After completing a BA in medical anthropology at McGill University, Kim Sullivan spent many years in the nonprofit public-health sector before deciding to take a more hands-on approach to health and wellness. She received an MS in traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbal medicine) from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.
While working in many different community health clinics, she became passionate about women's health. Women's health is so often taken out of our own hands and put into somebody elses, Kim says. Chinese medicine is a very effective way to reintegrate our bodies, our minds to become aware of how our bodies work and what we can do for ourselves. She traveled to Hangzhou, China, where she completed advanced training and clinical internships in women's health and infertility. I love the idea of being able to integrate modern technology with ancient medicine in order to optimize a woman's fertility and overall well-being.
Kim is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is a member of the Illinois Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ILLAOM) and a licensed acupuncturist in the states of Illinois and California.
