This class has been designed to meet the educational needs of estheticians, cosmetologists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and physician assistants involved in the care of patients seeking aesthetic enhancement procedures.
The 2-day curriculum is designed to give students in-depth knowledge on how laser and IPL systems operate. An overview of the anatomy and physics of skin and hair, parameters for permanent hair reduction, Photofacials, facial and leg veins, acne treatments, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion and medical-grade chemical peels will be presented. The lecture will include Laser/IPL skin interaction, skin typing and analysis, as well as operational and treatment safety measures. Secondly, discussion of contraindications, adverse events, benefits, client consultation, safety issues, expected results and medical terminology will be covered on Day 1.
Day 2 will provide hands-on practicum sessions of the following:
- Laser Hair Removal
- Acne Therapy
- Collagen Remodeling
- Rosacea Therapy
- Photofacials
- Microdermabrasion

- Dermaplaning demonstration
- TCA and Jessners demonstration
- Laser Vein Therapy demonstration

During the course you will gain valuable insight and pearls on the "How To" of optimal success. Attendees will receive a course manual. A certificate showing Certification of Hands-on Training will be provided upon completion of the course. Each attendee must serve as a model during the practicum if appropriate.
