The central component of our treatment: a PRF injection.
Your blood is made up of three components: red blood cells, white blood cells, and plasma. Plasma plays a vital role in our bodies: it makes up 55% of our blood, supports cell function, carries electrolytes to our muscles, and supplies critical proteins and growth factors to heal wounds and regrow tissues.
To create the injections used in PRF treatments, we:
- Take a blood sample
- Centrifuge it to remove the red blood cells and isolate the platelet-rich plasma proteins
- Combine these proteins with fibrin, another protein which causes blood clots
The resulting substance is rich with growth factors that, when injected into the scalp, encourages hair growth and regeneration on a cellular level.
How is PRF better than PRP?
PRF and PRP are both composed of platelet-rich plasma. However, while PRP injections are very liquidy and remain at the injection site to work for about a day or two, PRF injections actually turn into a gel and stay put at the injection site for about 10 to 12 days, according to the studies. During this period of time, the gel continuously releases its growth factors and stimulates your hair to grow.
